Is Life Better at Brunch? The term "Brunch" was coined in 1896 in England, to describe a Sunday meal that started a little later in the morning for the "Saturday night carousers". We have all had that Sunday when getting up early for church or anything else is out of the question. Judging by the date of origin it's not new either. Taken up as a "thing" in the 1930's in the United States, brunch has become one of those meals when you can surely get the whole family involved or gather a group of friends. It's no longer a meal for snobs as was once thought.
